how we help ecosystems
From the mist-draped Yungas cloud forests to the Altiplano puna grasslands, to gnarled Polylepis woodlands, to the surreal páramo with its Dr. Seuss-like plants and high-altitude valleys where endemic palm forests rise unexpectedly at 10,000 feet—Latin America holds ecological treasures the world cannot afford to lose.
That’s where CONFLUENCE comes in: we help organizations helping nature by linking people, ideas, and resources to strengthen non-profits working on the ground.
THE CONFLUENCE conservation approach
Like rivers converging, powerful things happen when people, ideas, and resources come together. Guided by this belief, our conservation work prioritizes resilient watersheds & protected areas, with conservation capacity building at the core.

Resilient
Protected Areas
We help our partners enusre that protected areas remain protected.

conservation
capacity building
We use conservation capacity building to strengthen the organizations behind these essential ecosystems.

RESILIENT WATERSHEDS
We focus on watersheds connected to protected areas because water security is essential for nature and people.
By making local conservation organizations BETTER, we enhance the ecosystems they steward, making protected areas more resilient and watersheds healthier.
CONSERVATION CAPACITY BUILDING, NOT CONSULTING.
Conservation capacity building is too often reduced to advice on paper. At Confluence, capacity building means partnership in practice. We don’t parachute in with recommendations—we embed, roll up our sleeves, and work side by side until our Latin American partners’ fundraising, communications, and operations become strong and resilient.
